Jason is a 4th generation Oregonian who grew up in a rural timber town and has called Bend home for over 17 years. As a Deschutes County Deputy District Attorney and former public defender, Jason knows what it takes to provide safety and justice for our community with equity. A father, advocate for kids in foster care, and elected board member of the Bend Park and Recreation District, he rolls up his sleeves to care for our neighbors. Jason will be a voice for our priorities:
- Jason supports the Student Success Act. In Salem, he’ll fight for greater investments in early, higher, and career and technical education.
- Bend is facing an affordable housing crisis. Jason will work to find solutions that will protect renters and increase housing supply and choices.
- Climate change is impacting Oregon’s communities with wildfire and Instead of blocking solutions, Jason will work to protect our community, our state, and our planet.
- Finally, it’s become clear that nothing else matters if we’re not healthy and our neighbors aren’t healthy, which is why we must continue to expand access to medical and mental health care.
